UPDATE 07.06.07

"Amalia was the match that started the fire, the match burned out, but a fire’s been lit, and we have to keep it alive", friend Hpioni commented. Her words express our effort in the best possible way.

We are neither politicians (we wouldn’t want to be), nor do we have the power to exercise authority, but we can control it and we should do so!

We can inform and we should do so.

We can awaken and help others awaken too.

Our goal is to go tomorrow in a Public Hospital or Health Centre and find that it has the necessary infrastructure, the doctor will handle us fairly, see us like patients, like human beings, not take a look first in our pocket and then at our problem, give us the proper medication and not the one any pharmaceutical company "obliges" him to, make us feel as if we were living at last in a law-abiding society and not a third-world mess…

Don’t fool ourselves: Amalia’s problem was not fakelaki (bribery) alone, but the heartlessness, unaccountability, irrelevance, irresponsibility and impunity of some oath-breakers. As long as we are faced with such phenomena, we’ll react as intensely as possible.

We continue!
