GIA TIN YGEIA / FOR HEALTH: 25.06.07

The bloggers that continued the “Gia tin Amalia” protest of 01.06.07 via public dialogue in this blog, now carry on with the “Gia tin Ygeia / For Health” movement, since many of our fellow people are in Amalia’s place and any one of us may find themselves in this place at any given moment.

The “Gia tin Ygeia / For Health” movement includes initially the
giatinygeia.freeforums.org forum opening and the simultaneous gathering of signatures at the Gia Tin Gyeia gopetition.com e-petition site, in which everyone can participate. The final recipients of the e-petition are the Greek Minister for Health and Welfare, Ministers and Members of the Greek Parliament, the European Parliament and the European Commission.

The e-petition will primarily require the real name of a person, his/her e-mail address and country, as in most of the e-petitions globally, where not a single physical person is nominally responsible for the petition. The aim is to make the protest heard, and not to create some sort of a data-base for using personal information for any purpose, other than the one of this specific "Gia tin Ygeia / For Health" movement. The e-petition is a public act and expresses the opinion of only those participants who choose to sign it, and not of bloggers, web-site owners, net users or the public as a whole.

How you can help:

1. Get involved and write your suggestions for Health and the Greek National Health System in
giatinygeia.freeforums.org.

2. Sign the e-petition in
www.gopetition.com "Gia tin Ygeia / For Health".

3. Spread the word about the protest to as many people as you can in your blogs and also with e-mails (there are already e-mail links in the sidebar). You can also print the documents (Greek, English) and ask people to go to the e-petition site and sign it (with the help of someone they know has access to a computer, or at an Internet café).

We do not want only the final recipients to get a big message on 25.06.07, but as many people and services as possible. The comments here will remain open up to the end of this protest, solely for helping you out.

The document of the protest follows, as posted on the petition site. There you will find a summary of all the movement from the beginning, since we are addressing an international audience.
